The apples are starting to fall from our trees and the sun is setting an hour earlier, setting off that golden glow around supper time and inviting the deer to browse outside our front doors. As much as I love the warmth of summer, autumn will always be my favorite.
As a homeschooling mama who educates year round, I don’t share the same rush that some parents have with regards to back to school shopping and whatnot. But the change in season still instigates a desire to reset, if you will, and to prepare my children for not only colder, wetter weather, but also for far more indoor activities as well. I check my ingredients for hot cocao, mulled cider, and inventory my herbs for the inevitable runny noses.
